UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
We create opportunities for women to deepen their faith together.
We live into the mission of the global United Methodist Church to foster a community of women who know God, develop a creative and supportive fellowship, and expand mission efforts on a local and global scale. Here at Christ UMC, we are one unit with multiple UMW Circles that are open to the entire community to grow in fellowship and faith together. We also host different events throughout the year that give back to our community. To learn more about United Methodist Women, contact Myra Buffaloe, UMW President, at fedlady007@comcast.net.
Prisca's Partners - Second Monday of Each Month
at 10am in the UMW Room
Our Prisca's Partners UMW Circle visits those who are unable to attend church on Sunday mornings. We hope to alleviate the loneliness they may experience and let them know they are not forgotten. Join us for a monthly meeting of encouragement, coffee, cookies and laughter.
Istoria Circle - Second Tuesday of Each Month
at 6:30 pm in the UMW Room
Istoria is Greek for "book". The Istoria Circle is a reading
group that primarily reads fiction books and meets monthly to discuss the book. Books are chosen for several months ahead so participants have the opportunity to read ahead.
Sing a New Song - Second Saturday of Each Month
at 10am in the Conference Room
Join the Sing a New Song UMW Circle for a time of fellowship, Bible study, and devotion on the second Saturday of each month.
UMW/United Women of Faith Missions
Our women's groups come together all year long to raise funds for local, regional, and global missions. Aside from collecting donations, the women host their annual rummage sale every spring, all proceeds going toward a particular mission. The quarterly Unit Meetings are focused on future fundraising and mission endeavors, including World Thank Day, when everyone brings loose change for benefits, or creating hygiene bags and pocketbook collecting to fill with supplies for the Wesley House Grannies program. There are so many needs in our community, and these women help meet those needs all year round!
